Up early for the very long trip to Bangkok where we had to take a ferry to the mainland and then change to a bus with a screaming air conditioner in our ears for the 8 hour trip to Bangkok. We managed to swap seats eventually and slept, read and mended our way to Bangkok. Arrived about 9.30pm with no booking but luckily found a room in the first guesthouse we walked into. Unfortunately it was on the fourth floor which was a bit hard for Graz with his dodgy knee, but we thought we would move the next day and it had air-con and wifi.
We were hungry so we headed out to find some food on nearby Khao San Road and checked out a few potential hotel prices for the next day. Grahame found Pad Thai Noodles for 30 Baht ($1AUD) and we fended off the hawkers – this place is crazy!
