Today we packed our back pack had the included breakfast and headed to the beach. We decided that those stairs could only be attacked in cool weather so there was no returning until nightfall. We wandered to the other side of the island to the beach for a swim. The beach was fine in the morning but when the tide goes out the water goes with it and you have to go a mile to get deep enough water. So we lounged on the beach for the afternoon and bought a couple of expensive beers. 120 baht each.!!! Normal price would be 60 to 80 baht. We discovered Phi Phi has highly inflated prices because it’s popular so we only had one each of those. We made the decision to stay a couple of extra days but we needed to get accommodation closer to the beach. We checked out a few places but they were even more expensive than the room we had or they only had one night. We booked a place on the beach for the one night they had but still searched around. Found these beachy huts at the far end of the beach starting at 800baht. They would not book them but said to come back in the morning. We ended up having pizza on the waterfront near the wharf and found some rooms the shop owners were renting above their shops so we had that in reserve. We were looking forward to our climb home. (yeah right) We figured seeing as we were well and truly more than half way to the View Point we would get up early and go to the top before we checked out.
