7/1/2010 Singapore
Today we bought a ticket on the ‘Hippo’ Bus Route to see the sights of Singapore. This took us past many of the major buildings, parks & museums with a bit of history on the way. We went up on the Singapore Flyer & were amazed by the changes that have taken place. Singapore has increased their land mass by 25% through reclaiming land from the sea & most of it is built out with 50 storey skyscrapers! They have recently built a new financial district and are currently working on a massive entertainment & casino complex being built down at Marina Bay on the site where we held DisneyFest. It’s hard to believe it’s the same city sometimes! After this we hopped on a boat tour of the river, hopping off at Clarke Quay which is now a trendy food & entertainment area. Finished the day by walking back along the river via Boat Quay, the Courthouse and the Cathedral. It was a long day and we walked back to Little India via a hokker stand that sold great cheap food.
