25/12/2009 Christmas Roasting

Basically recovered from Christmas Eve which was pretty much an early News Years Eve. Started the morning in the resort next door’s pool as our air-conditioned room was great except they never had any power to run the bloody air con!!! Our travel tip for the islands is to ask not only for air con but make sure they have a big generator to run the dam thing when the power goes off , which happens all the time as they don’t have enough power to run the island . We also did not forget out family and friends and gave them all a call. The lucky ones were either home or had their phone on. Travel tip: if staying for a while get a local sim card for your phone as the calls are cheap, cheap and texts back to Ozzie were about 7 cents. Meet up with a couple we had meet from Perth (Gabby and Craig) for more half price cocktails and a Xmas style roast dinner!! Well as good as you are going to get on a little island. Then went and watched a dodgy pirated movie in these little box hut things near the beach, basically you spend about $6 or $7 Aussie on food and drink and they give you the hut and movie free. Our copy was crap!
