24/12/2009 Turtle sighting & Christmas on Trawangan

This morning we got up at 6am to have a final snorkel on Gili Meno and we finally saw a turtle! Then we got the early shuttle across to Gili Trawangan.  After an afternoon on the beach snorkeling in more fabulous crystal clear waters we got ready to party. Christmas here is really celebrated on Christmas Eve as in Europe so we set off for a pub crawl along the beach strip that is Trawangan. Started at Horizontal for ½ price cocktails and then headed to Sama Sama for a few local cocktails (this means extra strong – there is no set alcohol content – just whatever the batch ends up!). Finished up at Rudy’s Magic Mushroom Bar (no we weren’t sampling the mushrooms!) where we met up with loads of other tourists and drank and sang with the band into the wee hours.
