We were up early this morning for the three hour trek on a bus out to Clarke airport – this is what happens sometimes with those Air Asia flights! However unlike the rest of the Philippines this trip, despite departing from the slums was a smooth ride on a brand-new air-conditioned coach on which we were the only passengers! To top it off we were on a 6 lane sealed highway all the way!
We flew into Kuala Lumpur & took a bus into town – the new low-cost carrier terminal is about an hour from the city centre. Once in town we caught a taxi to the Golden Triangle and scouted out a few hotels, eventually settling for the Nova as it had wifi & an ensuite. We went out that evening to one of the many local food stalls in our street and met up with some Finnish people who were telling us all about their travels and giving us tips about their country. We ended up going to an Irish bar with them for a few beers and had a great night.
