After packing up we headed into town for a cheap feed of noodles and rice then went back to catch our ultra luxurious bus from KL to Penang. What a contrast to the claptraps we had ridden around the Philippines (although they were $2-3 a ride). The 16 seater, double-deck coach had reclining seats with footrests, a huge plasma TV showing movies in English, lunch and coffee served to us and a ‘sitting room’ downstairs! Two movies and we were in Penang!
On arrival we found that our paid reservation had been cancelled as the bus was so late in and the swimming pool was closed for the night. They found us another room and then we went to the local supermarket to stock up. We had a dinner of instant noodles and an early night.
