We had lunch at a lovely restaurant at the wharf and then walked to the Fort and the interesting Penang museum, where we were kicked out at closing time. Headed back for a swim in the pool and more instant noodles to finish the day. We have to make up for all the expensive accommodation in Malaysia plus a lot of the street food is fried and precooked so it sits in the vendors stand all day. With our weak stomachs we don’t want to risk it at the moment!

02/02/2010 Free Travel!
Today we took the free hop-on, hop-off bus around Georgetown to check out all the local sights and buildings. This place, being an English outpost has very different architecture than other places we have visited – colonial and grand mostly. However this is interspersed with the strong Chinese influence in the form of clan houses and the usual mosques of Malaysia.
